The Idea Arc
Visual Canvas for fleshing
out innovative ideas

The Idea Arc is a visual canvas and method for improving, maintaining, and sharing business ideas during the Lean Startup 'build, measure, learn' feedback loop.
It was developed based on research that revealed companies are under enormous pressure in the early stages of the innovation process. The main problem is that companies evaluate ideas based on criteria they have obtained from previous successful experiences. The consequence is that genuinely fresh and innovative ideas are often rejected because they don't comfortably resemble the past.
The Idea Arc enables companies to evaluate and engage with innovative ideas by promoting creative discussions and design activities. It proposes five basic dimensions: the idea itself, the principle (value) behind it, the problem, the user before, and the user after the design intervention.
